Edendale Grill

Edendale Grill, Silver Lake, California. Renovation of a historically landmarked fire station into a bar and restaurant.

Due to the landmark status of the structure, original features of the building, both inside and out, were required to remain intact. As the building required extensive structural upgrades to make it conform to current earthquake requirements, the first phase of the project consisted of a seismic retrofit which, once completed had to be completely concealed.

With careful restoration, reconstruction, and replacement of damaged elements, the original firemen's dormitory became the main Dining Room.

The assembly room is now used as the entry foyer and waiting area, and the engine bay was transformed into the bar with the original tin ceiling and skylight.
